Los Angeles, CA — October 29, 2025 — Winter State Entertainment has officially joined as backer and producer for ‘12’, the upcoming feature-length sports documentary that will chronicle one of the most extraordinary moments in NFL history. The film, is also produced by Victory Sports Media and NFL legend Marshawn Lynch, tells the gripping true story of how the city of Seattle rose up in the mid-1990s to keep its beloved Seahawks from relocating to Anaheim — the only time in professional sports history that a community has successfully stopped a franchise from being taken away.
The partnership on ‘12’ also marks the launch of a new joint venture between Winter State Entertainment and Victory Sports Media, aligning two premium content companies to co-develop and finance a slate of sports and culture-driven projects for global audiences.
Founded by Hamid and Camille Torabpour, Winter State Entertainment is a film and television production company known for championing bold, commercially viable stories with global appeal. Current projects in various stages of production include documentaries on boxing legend Thomas “Hitman” Hearns, Pro Football Hall of Famer Willie Roaf, and NFL great Mel Blount. Past credits include Lionsgate comedy ‘Angry Neighbors,’ starring Bobby Canavale, the upcoming comedy ‘Lunch Hour,’ starring Thomas Middleditch, Alan Cumming and the sports-drama ‘Under the Stadium Lights,’ starring Laurence Fishburne.
Victory Sports Media, co-founded by veteran producer Jai Khanna and financier-strategist Parag Parikh, is a global producer and financier of premium sports content. The company has produced acclaimed projects such as NBC/Peacock’s ‘Dream Big: The Michelle Wie Story’ and the Emmy-nominated TNT series ‘The Great Debate with Charles Barkley.’ Victory has formed strategic alliances with major brands, streaming platforms, and investors, including its joint venture with Ellevest to finance women-led sports programming.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Victory Sports Media on ‘12’ and beyond,” said Hamid Torabpour, CEO of Winter State Entertainment. “This story embodies resilience, community, and the unbreakable bond between a city and its team — themes that resonate far beyond sports. Our joint venture with Victory allows us to bring more of these powerful narratives to audiences worldwide.”
“This joint venture represents more than a single film — it’s the start of a long-term platform for premium sports storytelling. Partnering with Winter State strengthens our ability to finance and deliver projects that resonate with streamers. Sports content is one of the most dynamic growth areas in media today, and ‘12’ is just the beginning.” – Jai Khanna, Co-Founder of Victory Sports Media.
Blending exclusive interviews, never-before-seen archival footage, and cinematic recreations, ‘12’ will recount the political battle to pass Referendum 48, secure local ownership under Paul Allen, and set the stage for the Seahawks’ rise as one of the NFL’s most respected franchises.
Filming will take place in South Carolina.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Marshawn Lynch and the 12 documentary to South Carolina,” said Matt Storm, Film Commissioner for South Carolina. “It’s an honor to have Victory Sports choose the Upstate as their home base for this production. Even though the story is rooted in another part of the country, the theme of grassroots support and fanbases’ undying loyalties is something that South Carolinians know well”
Marshawn Lynch will serve as Executive Producer, one of the NFL’s most iconic and beloved players, has built an impressive portfolio across sports, entertainment, and business. Beyond his Super Bowl title and being named to ESPN’s All Quarter Century Team, Lynch has become a co-owner of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, USL’s Oakland Roots SC, and the MLR’s Seattle Seawolves. His acting credits include a recurring role on HBO’s hit series Euphoria, Netflix’s Murderville, the indie film Bottoms, the upcoming biopic on Mac Dre, where he serves as a producer alongside Stephen Curry and the Eddie Murphy action comedy The Pickup. He will next appear in the highly anticipated 20th heist thriller ‘Eenie Meanie.’
Daniel Mogg, an award-winning Seattle-based filmmaker with over eight years in sports media, will direct. A four-time Emmy winner, Mogg began his career on ;Sunday Night Football’, spending three seasons on the sidelines capturing game action and conducting player interviews. He later served as Chief Creative Officer for Russell Wilson’s West2East Empire, directing branded campaigns for Nike, Alaska Airlines, and Bose. Having covered more than 65 Seahawks games, Mogg brings a deep creative connection to the franchise’s story. Production will be led by Madeline Down, who headed Seahawks Productions for seven years before co-founding Studio89 with former Seahawk Doug Baldwin Jr.
Pre-production is underway, with release targeted for 2026. Distribution partners and brand collaborations will be announced in the coming months.
